Starting from the western side of the mountain, it provides diverse landscapes and fewer crowds in the initial days. The route merges with the Machame Route on day 3.

The Machame Route, nicknamed the "Whiskey Route," is one of the most popular routes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
